Club IT

Introduction

Club IT is one of the famous music venue and night clubs of the city. It is owned by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada, and they also manage it. They are planning to develop advanced information technology infrastructure, which could help them in improving the performance of their club and effective management of the resources (Rainer R.K. & Turban E., 2008). I am working as an intern with them to achieve the target.

In the initial phase of information analysis, I discovered that the current information system is not able to handle the effective management of the main business processes such as, managing quantities and costs for food and beverage operations, payroll, concert events, and marketing campaigns. Therefore, we decided to implement the Transaction processing system (TPS) in the first stage.

Discussion

In this section, I discuss the main criteria for the assessment of required information systems.

Organization Description and Demographic Information

The target audience of the club is of the age group 21 to mid 30's. The club remains busy in evenings and especially during the weekends when the company arranges special programs to keep the customers attracted. The majority of the customers are from the age group, for whom drinking is legalized. The club aims at providing customers with quality food, beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks along with the high quality music and dance, which is the main cause of fame for the club. The use of tablets and wireless communications are a part of their daily life activities. Also, the concept of social networked has emerged dramatically over the past decade. As a result, the customers use the social networking sites such as face book and twitter more than any other communication tool.

The club has staff to perform the duties of cooking, security, cleaning, managing front desks, serving customers, and arranging musical shows. The focus of the customers on advanced technology urges the club to develop innovation strategies for strengthening the customer relationships and loyalty.

Currently, the club has a single computer with slower dial-up internet connection. All the employees share the same ID and password for data entry or any human resource application.

Goals and Strategy

The main goal of deployment of information technology is to improve the productivity and financial outputs of the business. Ruben Keys and Lisa are looking forward to open a new club for which they wish to generate revenues from their existing business, the Club IT. The successful deployment of the information systems will improve their running processes, which will result in better management of the resources. It will also affect the quality of customer services, and will result in attracting more customers and finally improving the revenues.

As there are many flaws in the existing information system infrastructure, therefore, the strategy designed first ...
