This paper will discuss the success of Ericson when it switched to cloud computing through AWS. Cloud computing has benefited several organizations through its feasibility and latest features. Ericson has benefited from Amazon Web Services in several ways such as; services offered by Amazon are not costly as compared to other service providers and, there is no requirement of long term subscription in order to get full access (Bert et al, 2009). Due to existence of Amazon's current infrastructure, they are providing AWS without any extra additional charges which are not provided by other competitors. Ericson found several benefits when it adopted cloud computing and one of the most important advantage was the cost reduction. There is no need to buy any extra license and hardware (Amazon Web Services, 2011).

The global infrastructure of AWS allow Ericson to take several benefits such as; cost reduction, software update, remote access and on demand availability. The automated updates from AWS allow the system of Ericson to update successfully. This infrastructure also helps Ericson to update in a short time and cope with the changes that are taking place in the market. All the applications, bandwidth and servers are tweaked on-the-fly and, there is no need to wait for several weeks or days to automated updates.

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is able to provide an environment where deployment is an easy task for Ericson through different portals where users can access through a virtual Amazon machine Image which is called as instance (Bert et al, 2009). This may contain each application which is required on time. Moreover, simple storage services of Amazon (Amazon S3) also provide an online storage through a web interface. They are helping to provide enhanced solutions for SMBs and other large organizations.
