Day: Friday

Subject: Kindergarten kids in an open classroom with Ms. Lauren and her assistant. I will be looking at 12 kids in two groups. Yellow and Red color of each group

8:00 a.m.

Little kids have just stepped in to colorful classroom and moving here and there

Some kids are busy in playing with toys and some are sitting idle, staring others

Some kids are crying and making noise.

Ms. Lauren and her assistant talking with crying kids and making them cheer

TA is controlling class to make kids settle down on their chairs

8:05 a.m.

Peon enter in to classroom and talked with Ms. Lauren

Ms. Lauren drew attention to peon and instructed her assistant to control the class

Ms. Lauren take slips from cupboard

Ms. Lauren left classroom for some urgent work

Teacher's assistant came in centre between two round tables and took an attendance register from the cupboard

TA opened the register while making kids to settle down

She starts calling each one name

TA took attendance and at the same time trying to control the class

08:10 a.m.

Kids settling down and noise level comes down

TA moves to cupboard and take out English Workbooks

Some kids playing with their crayons.

Some are moving here and there.

08:15 a.m.

Ms. Lauren comes back in to class room and sits in yellow round table. Ten kids around her

Teacher's Assistant sits in another red round table of having 10 kids around

TA distributes workbooks among kids

opened correct page of workbook for each one of them

Ms. Lauren starts with rhyme and motivates kids to sing along with here

Kids start with rhyme and giggles

08:25 a.m.

Ms. Lauren ask Jack about what comes after letter E

Jack remains quiet
