The paper aims to provide the changes that have been made in an organization of criminal justice resulting from the terrorist attacks of September 9th, 2013. The topic of criminal justice is essential as it is directly associated with the law and order situation of a country. The utmost duty of criminal justice is to upload social control, determine and mitigate crime or sanction those individuals that are involved in violating laws within criminal rehabilitation efforts and penalties. According to various researches, the incident of 9/11 has been significant in bringing changes in criminal justice organizations. It is the largest FBI's department and is playing a vital role in investigating crimes in United States. It is the governmental agency belonging to the United States Department of Justice that handles the Federal criminal investigation and internal intelligence. In United, the Bureau (FBI) is considered to be the leading law federal enforcement agency responsible for the counterterrorism investigations.
How Did the Department Changed?
The incident of September 11, 2001 also known as 9/11 was a came up with significant changes in the department of FBI. Since, FBI was directly held responsible for the lack of security in the country that give rise to such a situation. It was necessary for the department to make modifications that can ensure the safety of people living in United States. The major change was implemented by the Director of FBI, Robert Mueller, as he transformed the Bureau in an agency of intelligence. The structure of FBI can be seen as more flexible, agile, proactive, and intelligence driven body after 9/11 that plays most the significant role in preventing terrorist acts.
