Introduction

Chronic myeloid leukaemia is different from the acute leukaemia. It is a cancer that occurs in the bone marrow. Cells in the bone marrow are responsible for producing blood in the body and a cancer in these cells is very harmful because it hampers the blood formation process in the body. This chapter talks about the two sub categories of chronic leukaemias i.e. myeloid and lymphoid groups (Hoffbrand & Moss, 2006)
