Scriptural Foundations

A realistic Church Ministry should be a balanced program that offers and encourages spiritual development, moral guidance, witness, and social gathering. (Bernard, 1991) However, its aim should always be at the core of those areas that constitute the Christian-life, namely: Worship (Liturgia), Witness (Martyria), and Fellowship (Koinonia).

Worship (Liturgia)

Worship (Liturgia) refers to our relationship with God through prayer, worship and the sacramental life. It is through Liturgia that we really experience and get to personally understand the personal Godhead.

Witness (Martyria)

Worship is just the beginning. Man is both a spiritual and a physical being, and thus the spiritual reality is expressed through the physical world. We will not only have faith, we must furthermore exemplify it in our life.

Fellowship (Koinonia)

Fellowship refers to the way in which the Orthodox Christian adds his faith into his daily and social life..

Core Ministry Values

Core values are what you will live and die for. Ministry values are important, but a little more subjective. (Rick, 2010) Their purpose is to aid you in ministry effectiveness as well as promote teamwork. The Core Values are for the entire church. The major core values are described as under:

Fight for focus

Distraction is a top enemy of effective ministry. Fight against it. Do everything under your power to achieve and maintain a precision laser focus. Your focus should always support the mission of the church.

Never violate the core values
