Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to conduct a social assessment of China. The paper discusses the history and background of the social establishments within China. China has always been known and famous due to its favorable culture. The social assessment provides a great insight over the cultural and economic development of China. This is the best depiction of the trends which are going through in China and the developments which have been experienced by China. Thus, this paper is a brief analysis of China's development.

Discussion

China is one of the world's ancient civilizations. Before the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, a thousand years time, the achievements of Chinese culture were in the top of the world. Industrial revolution, the Western social science and technology with each passing day have faced a sharp decline in the rapid economic development. As a result the economy of China has declined in the mid 19th century when many parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America to become the colony of Western powers or spheres of influence. In the past a long period of time, a lot of domestic and foreign scholars attributed the backwardness of China Chinese Confucian culture. As per the scholars, since the reform and opening up, China is clearly not the first cultural transformation for economic development. From 1979 to 2010, the average annual growth rate of China's GDP reached 9.9%, with the total increase of 20.6 times which has helped the country to become the world's second largest economy and greatly enhance its international status. Moreover, since the 2008 global financial and economic crisis, China's economy maintained a strong growth to become the main pulling power of the global economic recovery.
