Part A: Organization's self assessment process

Necessity to conduct self assessment

All the education and care services are assessed according to National Quality Standard, National Regulations and National Law. The approved care services and education are assessed. The rating is provided to each quality area according to the National Quality Standard as exceeding, meeting, working and significant improvement. The main purpose of assessment and rating process is the provision of improvised access to information related to the quality of education and care services. The self-assessment is also aimed to encourage the continuous improvement in the care services and quality of education. The self-assessment will pave way to raise the standard quality against the standard services assessed. Also, it is expected that the continuous quality improvement will prevail and promoted (acecqa.gov.au).

Self-assessment is a regular component of most performance evaluations. In preparation for the evaluation meeting, employees can evaluate their performance with the performance plan and evaluation form. This process identifies the differences between how the employee sees himself and the perception of the manager, and at the evaluation meeting.

In order to more effectively evaluate the performance of the employee, the manager should consider the notes he has taken with respect to performance management and the generated documentation about it throughout the year. Topics covered in the documentation and evaluation meeting will have already been discussed with the employee and managers can manage performance issues as they arise, without causing a surprise during the performance appraisal meeting.

The positive side will include the positive aspects of the services and their quality. Those areas and activities will be highlighted which have exceeded expectations and efforts will be made on maintaining their quality achieved (Aeschliman, 2008).

The educators and staff receiving the feedback will identify the strong performances and performers for the specified time period. This feedback should be provided to the educators in a timely manner, and it must be specific and frequent. Recognizing effective performance is a valuable source of motivation.

For children's education and care services feedback is very important which will inform the management about the strengths and weaknesses of the child care actions performed.
