Introduction

Autism is a behavior-defined situation, but it results in a number of various physically determined and un-determined factors that affect the individual's ability to think.sometimes it affect the individual badly. This topic discusses Autism and its research practice and also considering the different approaches. The Asperger syndrome or disorder is a mental and behavioral disorder that is part of the spectrum of autistic disorders. It falls within the pervasive developmental disorders(PVDs) The subject referred primarily show severe problems in social communication and communication, as well as activities and interest areas are very restricted and stereotyped .It differs from autistic disorder in Asperger's disorder is not observed hindrances in language development, with no clinically significant disturbance in its acquisition. Persons with Asperger's could have difficulty maintaining stable relationships or marriage because of their limited social skills. Even though age of beginning and more frequent detection lies in early childhood, many of the new features of the disorder are evident in later stages of development when social contact skills begin to play a central role in the life of the subject (Fombonne, 2003).

Thesis Statement

Current facts states that autism is more common than previously distinguished which has set stress on service providers and highlighting the requirement to teach professionals in order to develop the awareness of autism.

Background of the study

The number of students diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is on the rise, with the current rate of autism diagnosis estimated to be between 30 in 110 (Prizant, 2008, 199). Autism is considered a spectrum disorder due to the wide range of ability levels exhibited by children carrying this diagnosis (Moore, 2007, 135).Those children functioning on the higher end of the spectrum may carry a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, commonly referred to as PDD. Children who are more significantly impaired will carry the diagnosis of Autism (Luke, 2003).

Autistic students display difficulty in developing both verbal and non-verbal language skills and engaging in social interactions. Students with autism were previously taught in special education classrooms, which limited their access to general education students. However, current research on best practices for instructing students with an autism spectrum disorder has shown that integration with general education peers can be effective for students with ASD. As a result, more children diagnosed with autism are being instructed in general education classrooms (Fombonne, 2003).

Aims and Objectives of the Study

The aims and objectives of this study will be to:

Highlight the prevalence and significance of autism disorders within school-going children

Elaborate on the role of the Government of U.S in addressing the issue of Autism among children in the mainstream primary school.

Determine the impact the spending review will have on children with autism.

Indicate the loop-holes and the gaps that exist within the mainstream education system in Scotland, while also pointing out the adequate provision for equipped resources.
