In Wales, the number of children in need is increasing day by day. The census conducted in the year 2011 has shown that the number of children in need has increased to great extent. The Cardiff city has been selected for analysing the census report of children in need that exists in the city. The Cardiff city is major and the largest city of Wales. The people o different types of race, culture and religion exists. The analysis of the census results has shown that most of the children in need in Cardiff city belong to white race and very few children are having any mental health problem. The basic reason that is leading to increase in the children in need is family dysfunction. The local authority of Cardiff has conducted many events for increasing the monetary contributions for providing the assistance to such children in need all around the country.

Introduction
The children in need
It is the right of every individual, whether it is an old, child or young, to be protected and kept safe from any harm. The people have their responsibility towards the children to protect all the rights of their children. Particularly, it is the right of any children to be safe, to be included in events and happiness and in the matters related to their lives, to be provided opportunities for education, achievements and learning. Unfortunately there are millions of children around the world who are not given even their basic rights. Some of them have no parents while the others who even have their parents are also neglected by their own parents and societies due to any disability. Organizations and governmental bodies have taken corrective steps but still it is society's major issue.
Wales Children in Need Census in the year 2011
In the year 2011, a census was carried out for the first time by the Welsh Government in order to find the number of children in need, living in Wales and to identify that the reason that why such children receive assistance from the social services departments.
