The first image presents three children, standing in open fields and waiving the British flag, thus highlighting their love for the flag and the depicting their patriotism (Richard Wainwright Photography, 2012). The happiness and the glow on face of the child holding the flag makes the viewer feel patriotic and the nationalistic, while the open fields and country side presented on the background depict the freedom and liberty enjoyed by the child. My response to the image is basically linked to the cultural attributed held by me, combined with the patriotic values and the devoted feelings posses by me. The cultural beliefs in UK call for the individuals to respect their freedom, as well as others', and at the same time they demands all the citizens to posses and show love and care for the country. Thus, the major cultural values of freedom and liberty for one's self as well as others are presented in the picture, combined with the notion of patriotism and nationalism and thus make the viewer feel patriotic as well as devoted.

The second image presents a Chinese child, dressed in traditional costume and posing for the photograph (Culturemap Houston, 2012). The child is dresses in all red and is also holding the traditional umbrella, which makes the dress complete and also creates a traditional ambiance, thus assisting the viewer in understanding that the child belongs to the Chinese culture. Moreover, the Chinese culture has remained unchanged over the years and the dress worn by the child in this image is the same as that worn by their ancestors, thousands of years ago. The image immediately reminded me of the Chinese tradition and made me feel respectful towards the same, moreover, it made me curious about the Chinese tradition and norms and values adopted by them. The Chinese values, mainly the dressing sense and the belief that the traditional costumes bring good fortune are highlighted in the image, thus making it a typical photograph highlighting the Chinese civilization and culture.
