Reflection Paper on the Principles of Child Development and Learning

Introduction

A child's learning and development is very important issue in the upbringing and growth of a child and plays a major role in the uplift of personality of the child, and is something that goes a long way for the child. Teachers who are the parents of a child when the parents are not around spiritually lift their personality.

After reading out the position statement I believe that the teacher's responsibility for the learning and development needs of a child are more as compared to the parents. Each child will have to be given special attention by the teacher. Teachers are supposed to keep an eye on the social relationships that a child is making.

Discussion & Analysis

Cultural differences have to be explained to the children right from the beginning and also that there is a trust and acceptance on the part of teachers for the children. They should give value and acceptance to the children and in return children must respect the teacher. Observation of the teacher plays a major role in the learning and development of a child, if the teacher identifies the strengths and weaknesses in a child and work on the grooming of child they will definitely develop a good character.

Teachers must be extremely careful while designing the syllabus/curriculum for the child and try to more focus on involving children in groups and as learning the child gets in a group is more as compared to one on one. Different dynamics of daily life are explored and help developing problem solving skills of the child.
