Introduction

Child abuse occurs usually when doing something or failing to do something leads to hitting the child. Child abuse can be of many types like sexual, emotional and sometimes even neglect. Neglecting the needs of the child is also considered as child abuse. Mostly, the children who are abused are not just damaged physically but also mentally as they become depressed, consider they are useless and may even consider to suicide. Many older children resort to drugs and drinking.The parents who abuse are usually the ones going through a hard time, mental distress; however, nothing gives them the right to let it out on children.

Child abuse is a serious problem and it is seriously suggested that anyone who sees a child who is being abused or neglected at home should call the police or a welfare agency. The child abuse does not just come from the parents; there are everyday reports in televisions and newspapers who mention child mistreatment at school or in a neighborhood. Child neglect is most common in families that live in poverty or those whose parents are drug abusers.

The sexual abuse is anything which a child is unable to understand or agree to. Such as the fondling of the genital area, anal intercourse, displaying genital parts, voyeurism or watching pornography. According to studies it was seen that one in four girls and one in eight boys were abused sexually before the ages of eighteen. The physical abuse is when a child is injured as a result of hitting, kicking, burning or any other way and this too has been reported to occur in large numbers. The neglect of child is usually failing to provide him with food, shelter, clothing or any other basic necessity.
