Characteristics of the urban environment that have the biggest influence on the affordability, and sustainability, of the block group
Introduction
This paper would focus on the study of the characteristics of the urban environment that has the biggest influence on the affordability, and sustainability, of my block group. Several characteristics have been identified in the H+T Index data sheet, relating to my block group. The characteristic that would be discussed in this paper and that I think to be the reason for affordability and sustainability in my block is the Median household income. This is because of the fact that the high Median household income means that the people living in my block group have the buying power, which leads to affordability. Furthermore, this high Median household income also means that the sustainability is possible.

Affordability
Affordability can also be termed as the buying or purchasing power of the individuals. As consumers' purchasing power households is that in private households for consumption purposes available income described, i.e. the amount that remains per household income, after all periodic payment obligations (for example, apartment rents, mortgage payments , insurance premiums have been served). The purchasing power can thus refer to either the monthly income or annual income of a person or household. The purchasing power of a household is not linked solely to the employment status of household members but is also subject to considerable regional differences. These differences are of great importance for the consumer goods industry, which adapt their offerings to present in a given region, purchasing power, in order not to produce on the needs of the market over. The purchasing power theory is an approach to the economic theory of how affects wage increases (Newsome, Bruce, et al, p. 120-144).
The disposable income of households is a particularly meaningful indicator of the (monetary) "prosperity" of the population and is to be understood as the amount of living in a particular region for human consumption purposes or for the accumulation of savings is available. The disposable income is derived from the received primary income, net of current transfers paid and received by the addition of current transfers (Newsome, Bruce, et al, p. 120-144). However, should the disposable income cannot be a flat rate equated with the term "purchasing power", since purchasing power should in principle in addition to the nominal amount of money also take into account the price level ( real wages ), while disposable income generally as a mere nominal amount of money into account any differences in prices. For the retail side of the purchasing power also plays the centrality of an important role. The centrality index is calculated from the ratio of the purchasing power index (purchasing power compared to the national average) to turnover ratio (retail sales compared to the national average) (Dumbaugh, Eric, et al, p. 69-88).
Purchasing power is determined by the amount of goods and services that can be purchased with a specific sum of money, given the prices of these goods and services. Thus, the greater the ...
