CHAPTER 5: SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This chapter presents a comprehensive conclusion, recommendations, implications and summary of the entire dissertation. In essence, the chapter presents the summary of research objectives, research questions, purpose of conducting the research and conceptual framework applied. Accordingly, the chapter presents the comprehensive summary of review of available literature and studies, methodology used for the data collection and survey instruments, analysis and interpretations of the research findings and finally the discussion of the those findings that have been gathered from the survey respondents. Lastly, the chapter presents the conclusion, recommendations and implications for both practices by the professionals as well as provide the future direction of the research.
5.1 Summary of Purpose, Objectives, Questions, Conceptual Framework of the Research
The objective of this dissertation is to take stock on role of principals who cultivated effective inclusive within their schools. Throughout research, the focus is to look on how and why principals of elementary schools within the selected school population district collaborate with their teachers and other school staff to facilitate all students with special needs with integration and other related services. The research focuses on principals' leadership abilities in carrying out the special needs of students with certain learning disabilities and raising their academic and social skills with other typical students in the general education classrooms. The research has used the conceptual framework of earlier research of Waldron et al. (2011) that is based on the qualitative case study research and focuses on five themes of principals with relation to their effective inclusive practices and behaviors that include: setting the direction, redesigning the organization, improve working conditions, provide high-quality instruction in all settings and using data to drive decision making in the school that are deemed as significant for schools leaders to meet the needs of all students including those with disabilities. The following sections would further provide the summary of each section with regard to formation of purpose of research, research aims and objectives, research questions and conceptual framework on which this dissertation is based on.
5.1.1 Purpose of the Research
The purpose of this research is to describe the process of the principals that have cultivated effective inclusive practices within their schools and teachers perceptions working under school principals that have successfully integrated students with special learning or disabilities with non-disabled in the general education classrooms.
