Personal plan to succeed

My personal plan is to succeed in the nursing studies. I plan to continue the nursing process on the practical basis. The nursing process defines the field of nursing practice and contains the quality standards; the customer is benefited, and that through this process is guaranteed quality of nursing care for the professional nurse is an increase of satisfaction and professionalism. It's a professional career for the nurse and the client.

Introduction

My name is Jessica Melendez. I have been a registered nurse for about nine years. I hav spent three of years in the adult and pediatric emergency room at Kendall Regional Medical Center. The rest of those years have been in the Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute in Baptist Hospital of Miami. I have specialized four years in the procedure rooms in Interventional Radiology and 2 years in the Pre and Post Procedure Care Unit (PCU).

Personal and professional goals

I am pursing a Master's of Science Degree in Nursing because I would like the option to teach one day in a college or have the freedom to move up in the managerial ladder. There are options to move around with a Master of Science in Nursing. Baptist Hospital prides itself in being a Magnet Hospital which means they want their nurses to have degrees and certifications.

Reasons for pursuing graduate studies

I would like the option to teach one day in a college or have the freedom to move up in the managerial ladder. The graduate studies would help me complete my studies which interest me. Also it would help me achieve my career goal. The graduation would also help me have professional growth, increased income and a good job market. My personal skills would be improved and polished. Graduate studies' changes in time would allow me the flexibility to give time to house chores and family.

At least one short-term and one long-term goal

Short term goal is to obtain an A in this class. This would help me achieve a good benchmark as a start to progress further. It would help the teachers guide me more with the studies. It would increase my goodwill in class and would facilitate me with further advanced level in the next class. Long-term goal is to obtain the Masters of Science in Nursing. This would make a nurse graduate paving way for further researches and studies in this field plus increase my job level.

Three challenges you face in meeting your goals, and what

I face the challenges of working full time while raising a 15 and 12 year old. I was married young and now am divorced. The other challenge is time management. How I have to allocate and devote my attention to home, and my studies along with its practical implications. My third challenge is demanding studies where I have to achieve an A grade and complete my graduation, as well.
