Cell Phones In Prisons

Abstract

The use of cell phones by prisoners inside a prison not only created a threat to the security of the public in general or the law enforcement people, but it also allowed the convicted inmate to keep up to date with his gang network and kept the chance open for one to give instructions, plan illegal activities and give orders to their aliases without having to meet them physically. The public safety officials were getting into serious problems monitoring and controlling communications of prison inmates with the world outside. The misuse of cell phones is not just limited to communication, but they have been used to threaten government officials and also aid in the escape from prison. Various preventive and counter measures have been adopted, and installed at various prisons, to help safeguard the security of the public.
