Never before in history could we take pictures at any given time, access the internet, shop for our favorite clothing or socialize away from the home with talking, texting and even social networks, such as Facebook. Telephones today can be used as a multi-purpose computer, cell phones are game consoles, still cameras, email systems, text messengers, carriers of entertainment and business data. Particular age cohorts and subcultures have begun to utilize cell phones for multi-faceted purposes that help to define their niche or social identity. Cell phones are enabling people to create their own cultures; they are changing cultural norms and values, and demonstrating consumers' ability to modify and upgrade technology for their own use.
Cell phones have created quicker information movement that accommodates our busy lifestyles This tool has given us access to our loved ones, a sense of security in our daily travels and the ability to communicate instantly just about anywhere in the world. These improvements in phone technology are incredible; however there are also some downsides.
Now, there is the dilemma of information overload, which slows down our browsing speeds and at times even causes our phones occasionally lose access with the providers we use. There is also a higher risk of internet fraud and wire tapping,etc. Even now our privacy is compromised and our conversations are becoming less private, not to mention our texts which are sent out into cyberspace. Unfortunately, once our information is sent it is in the abyss of the cellular world. But as far as technological advances go, it is exciting to think about experiencing and seeing the latest advances this world has to offer.
