Introduction to the Paper

This paper is formulated to demonstrate the competence and knowledge in the study of child birth and pregnancy. The case is principally structured over the case of a young girl, called Priya. She is primigravida and is enthusiastic to have a normal labour and birth. While getting pregnant for the first time, it is very exciting for any couple that things go smooth and flattering. Couples usually have high level of enthusiasm and motivation attached with their emotions, with respect to their expected baby. However, they could be various circumstances, usually physiological, that hampers the enthusiasm of the couples and causes them disappointment, either with the complexity of labour or life of the fetus or its mother.

This paper will elucidate upon two practices that may hold back or support the wishes of Priya. There are a variety of literary articles, journals and publications used to critically comprehend the arguments, which are generate in this discourse. Despite of it, the paper would also elucidate current practices and researches, which are in actual fact got practiced in the humanity. However, all the arguments would be subjected with respect to the scenarios of Priya, the primigravida girl. The two practices, which may constrain or promote Priya's desires, are as follows.

Analysis of the Scenario

Primigravida is known as the woman, who got pregnant for the first time. She is having a low risk pregnancy, and she is keen to have normal labour and birth (Bricker, L, et al., 2001). A low risk pregnancy is anticipated to be problem free for the expectant. This assessment is made upon the woman's past medical and gynaecological history, and any other issue occurs during the pregnancy. In this sense, Priya has a relatively good medical history, and her throughout medical condition during pregnancy presumed that she would have a low risk labour with normal birth (Thompson, H. 2011).

Labour is considerably the process through, which a fetus is extracted out from the uterus in the external world. However, in physiology, Labour is an event involving a chronological, integrated set of transformation inside the uterine cervix, myometrium and decidua, that happens from time to time over a period of days to weeks and, at times, rapidly over minutes to hours and concludes at the delivery. Biochemical connective tissue alterations in the uterine cervix appear to lead uterine contractions and cervical dilation, and all such events usually occur before splitting of the fetal membrane. A normal labour is called, when the entire process happens normally, without any intervention of difficulty or complicatedness during the process.

In a normal labour, a woman experience normal birth. This is actually the fortune case of Priya, whose scenario is the core basis of this document.
