Introduction

In Cathedral, Raymond Carver has described the journey of an unknown narrator who moves from being uncomfortable with the blind to being all comfortable and at home with them. The story deals with the vision of the sight impaired, that has more to do with feelings and sentiments, which is the vision of heart than the actual vision of eye.

The vision of heart is more important, and holds more significance as compared to the vision of eye.
