History is the study of the past record. Since interest in the past is closely linked with the desire to understand the present, the history program at MIT is designed in part to put the modern world from a historical perspective. AACR and its allied products are published jointly by the American Library Association, the Canadian Library Association, and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. Subjects explored the social, economic and political shape to the present, and efforts are made to suggest that traditional assumptions remain in the current policy, society and culture.
