Introduction

The paper aims at the critical analysis of the paper, "Cognitive behavior therapy for postnatal post-traumatic stress disorder: case studies". The authors of the paper are Susan Ayers, Kirstie Mckenzie-Mcharg and Andrew Eagle. The paper discusses the issues that the women suffering from posttraumatic stress disorders face and the treatment that they are provided with making use of the cognitive behavior therapy. The women who were studied suffered from either traumatic or difficult births. The effects of such a trauma affected not only their lives, but also the lives of their families. The recommended treatment of such women was cognitive behavior therapy that was found to actually make the females better adapted to their lives, also get a hold, and control over their emotions.

Purpose of the Paper

The purpose of the paper is to analyze the mentioned research paper that includes a couple of case studies of women affected by posttraumatic stress disorder following difficult births (Lichtman, 2012). The paper will throw light on the methodology used in the research paper, including the advantages and drawbacks of the method.
