Q# 1) what are the issues facing Dean at this point, in his development?

ANS:

Dean is a boy of 16 year old white color boy. He is a sophomore at High School. After the divorce of his father and mother, now he lives with his father and the step mother. Dean in the school is uninspiring student. In the third grade of the school, his grade fell to average results of C grade. None in the house took the grade level seriously. During the age of middle school, he was encouraged to play football. He started playing but dropped out a few season after. He was a transparent guy and possessed good sense of humor. After insisting from father to cooperate in his business, he started learning automobile courses.

According to the writer's perspective, he misses his friends and the girls with whom he used to talk freely, but now he had no friends with whom he could share his heart feelings. Another big concern was about his sexual life because he did not feel about the girls and did not feel attraction towards girl. He ignored the peers by arguing that he will feel about the right girl at right time. Due to these reasons, the boys used to claim him as a gay and he was not feeling good because of this. The main problem is that he was confused and under-stress because of the peers used to taunting him. The Dean's father believed that he would learn a lesson from this mistake and will not repeat it again. According to the Ethnic theories the cultural values can also give impact because the culture of the Dean's environment is also affecting them.
