Presenting Complaint

Estelle was a 19 years old Hispanic Women, she has been referred to the clinic for an evaluation for her psychological disorder. Client is currently doing Job in a hair salon and suffering with number of problems as her boss is yield on her because her color treatment were not remain as same and become dull on the regular interval time. As we have seen that her mental ability does not working well and thus it results number of non-psychological things. She number of time tried to make herself physically punish such as cut her arms and legs, taking Drano, she slept with 10 years older guy, performance regularly lies on C grade and treated like a baby all the time. She is around 5'5” tall, weighs having 148 pounds and is pleased with how she looks. She wore slacks, high-heeled shoes and a long-sleeved shirt to her first visit. Estelle made fair eye contact and seemed very intense during the sessions. She rarely smiled and seemed on the verge of tears at times but she never really cried during the sessions. She wore a fair amount of eye shadow and lipstick and carried a CD player. She reports that she had reported about the history of mental illness in her family, and also reported no history of drug or alcohol abuse. She emphatically stated that she was clean and that she only “experimented” with cocaine and alcohol and never got in trouble because of her usage. All the drug screens performed at the hospital came up negative, so Client was being truthful here. Investigation into the hospital's case notes also confirmed the absence of mental illness in her immediate family. There was the fact that is described that her grand-mother was also hospitalized due to mental illness.

Personal History

19 years old Estelle has suffered with number of mental illness in her life time. First as she was working in a hair salon but she was yelled by her boss because her color treatment was bad on the regular basis. In past she had cut herself on her arms as well as legs but the craziest things that she performed was to found some Drano in the kitchen.

In her family she has two elders sisters and one brother and she was youngest them all so all the time she was treated like a baby, even though every single person in her home was looking after her. Although every member of her family spent majority of their time to stay out of home but no more than 20 minutes away Estelle remain alone. As the Hispanic family prefer to live very close and sometime to remain too close.

One major incidence that she faces in her life was at the time of 16 years age. She has her first sexual experience in that age with 10 years older guy. After that experience she was realized her mistake because he was never loved her and lied to ...
