Explain how common skills (e.g. communication and values attitudes and beliefs) can ensure good interprofessional practice for Larry and his wider family.
Whenever an individual suffer from any illness he or she relies on health service providers. Various members of the health care setting play their part in improving mental and physical well being of an individual. One of the most significant components of health care service providers are nurses. Nursing is a very influential profession. The nurses in the nursing homes have a very crucial job on their hands. They have to take care of the patients effectively, and residents present in the nursing homes. They have to be very careful in handling the patients; they have to take care of their basic needs and their hygiene. The patients have to be carefully looked after. As per this case study, Larry and his family lacks the communication amongst themselves. There is also a communication gap amongst the health care professionals at the nursing home where Larry's wife is admitted. The patients are not properly being taken care off. Larry has also noted that the staff is not very keen on hygiene. They rarely change their aprons and gloves. Larry saw the importance of hygiene when his was admitted to a hospital due to the fracture. However, that the importance of hygiene was lacking in the nursing home. The staff present there did not properly assist Larry in letting him know the problems faced by Jeanie and how they will be ...
