Identification of the Problem

For the purpose of discussing pay for performance systems, President of Alliance Brewing Group and General Manager of Five Star Brewing Co. Limited had a meeting. The system with regards to performance and pay that was implemented at Five Star Brewing Co. Limited had to be evaluated whether the design had the ability to produce high quality of beer at low costs. The aim was to enhance the quality and to reduce the costs involved with the production of the beer. However, in order to motivate the workers to produce high outputs, it is essential for the management to implement proper performance systems with regards to the pay. Since money is a motivating factor, it can significantly help the management in keeping the employees motivated and happy. Therefore, it is essential for the management to link the pay with performance. Some problems that the company was facing are mentioned below.

Need of Quality Staff

Human resource is the basic need of every organization and it is essential for the company to have the best human resources. Therefore, they must hire the best talent to ensure that the targets of the company are achieved.

Achieving High Quality of Targets

In order to achieve the targets, the employees have to be paid according to their performance. Since money is a motivator which greatly helps the employees in keeping themselves motivated and in producing with efforts.

Need For Management Control

For the management to be effective they should have good leadership skills and they should be good at managing people. The leadership goal should be to focus on self-reflection as this will help the company in highlighting the strengths and weaknesses and the ways in which improvements can occur. Moreover, self-esteem of the team members should also be developed to keep them motivated at all times

Lack of Motivation

Motivation plays a crucial role in determining the success of the organizations. Therefore, the management has to ensure that the employees hired by the company are motivated and work willingly. This is important because only the motivated employees can keep the employees happy. However, there are different kinds of organizations that opt for different tools of motivation to keep their employees motivated. The two types of rewards that can be given to employees are monetary and non-monetary. However, to determine the distribution of the rewards, the company has to evaluate the performance of the employees. Therefore, performance appraisal should be conducted without any biases. Some of the common issues of motivation that exist between all the organizations include self-confidence, personal and health problems and area of interest. If an individual is not much confident about eh work he is assigned to, his performance will be affected negatively. Since this individual is not trained according to the work he has been assigned, the level of motivation will reduce (Booz, 2007).
