McKinsey Company

In 1996, McKinsey is amongst the biggest consultant companies all over the world, which was known for its knowledge. The company has doubled its revenue in past six years and the main focus of the company was on the development of the knowledge to serve its customers. The company has designed 4 plans to encourage 2 objectives that were set by Rajat Gupta, the current management director.

To capitalize long-term investment of the company in practice development driven by different groups and channels.

Practice Olympics approach will be utilized throughout the company to develop ideas that will be review by board of directors, which will encourage internal competition.

Internal assignments were launched for six multi years to formulate “start of the art” key issues by using external and internal expertise. It will allow the firm to enhance knowledge to serve customers in better ways.

The last plan was focusing on the expansion of McKinsey Global Institute. This will allow the company to focus on the agendas of long-term research.

Key Elements and Issues

McKinsey does not exist to serve customers only, but its focus also on creating knowledge throughout the company and in employees, which ultimately benefits the company. McKinsey values its employees and their shared ideas, as the company is idea driven company that has developed a network within the company. The network is built up by the support of one department to another department by providing help to each other.

Another key element of the company is their relationship with clients. The company treats the problem of clients in unique way. The approach of the company is not limited to finding the solutions for current problems, but to get into the depth of the problem to find new approach and strategy for the company.

The company has developed several promotional plans for their employees to stimulate them. McKinsey values their employees and take care of their need. These promotion plans help to increase the motivation level of employees that ultimately brings success to the company in achieving company's goals and objectives.

McKinsey has strong competition in the market, including Boston Consultancy Group. McKinsey has adopted several strategies to compete other consulting companies. McKinsey believes in hiring employees from around the world to serve different types of clients, but these days company is drifting away from their belief.
