Defining the Problem

The problem is related to two cases which involve a food processing company known as Harvest Farm Foods, Inc and a former soccer player known as Owen who started his soccer academy in a US State to train kids for playing this game. In the case of Harvest Farm Foods, the company is struggling to achieve a reasonable profit figure because of the competition in the retail industry. There are many competitors in this field and they are doing quite well in the different groceries and supermarket chains. The chain store buyers also have a major role in this regard because they purchase products from those suppliers who offer them a good discount. This is the reason why Harvest Farm Foods will have to adjust their marketing strategy in a similar way. In the case of Owen, he opened a soccer academy which had a task of training children in playing soccer. Though, he tried to expand this work in order to earn more revenues and also have further success in this work. There were some problems that he had to undergo while doing this business. Therefore, this is the definition of the problem.

Analyzing the Problem

The analysis of the problem is one of the major tasks associated with these two cases. Harvest Farm Foods Inc. needs a suitable marketing strategy in order to compete with the competitors working in the same field. This is not an easy task but the company will have to devote a lot of efforts in preparing a suitable marketing strategy. The company would have to acquire information from the employees working in different supermarkets in order to have a practical knowledge about the entire marketing and supply chain process.
