Background of Interview
The interview was arranged by the help of a hospital nurse. I asked the nurse to give me contact details of few patients who witnessed cardiovascular problems then I contacted each of them for the purpose of interview. Some of them have gone to far-off places and few were not ready to disclose information related to their health. However, I negotiated with one of them and convinced them successfully for the purpose of interview. I took permission from the client to go to his home for interview. The interviewee was busy so he gave me appointment for next month. I visited the interviewee at the right assigned time.
Client's Risk Factors
During the interview, I assessed number of client's risk factors which provide impetus to heart attack and blood clot. There were two types of risk factors such as uncontrollable and controllable. The uncontrollable risk factors include gender, age and family history. The patients was 52 years old male. According to responses of patient, there are number of family members who have witnessed heart attacks and blood clotting. This showed that this cardiovascular problem was an inherent problem to the interviewee. The patient belonged to an African American family. The research showed that the probability of happening of heart attack also depends upon the race of the person.
According to research, American Indians, African Americans and Mexican Americans are more vulnerable to have heart attack as compared to other races. The controllable risk factors were smoking, hypertension, high C-reactive protein, uncontrollable anger and stress, physical inactivity and body weight. During the interview I get to know that patient have started smoking from childhood and he is still a smoker. The patient's weight was around 100 kilograms because of no physical inactivity (Keech et.al, 2003)
