Introduction

Cadbury is one of the most renowned names in the dairy industry on the global level. There are several reasons behind this fame including an enriched history, an excellent brand image and profile and above all an effective and efficient management taking care of things in the backhand. However, like any organization Cadbury has also gone through a number of problems through which it has evolved to become a legendary brand.

This essay will discuss the technical problems experienced by the Cadbury and how the problem was solved.

In this paper I will first highlight the technical problem of the Cadbury and then analyze how the problem was solved by the company. Moreover the possible alternatives are also discussed which can be adopted by the company.

Problem

One such problem faced by Cadbury was rather technical in nature, when the organizational performance suffered by extreme amounts in 2005 after being hit by problem related to the application and operation of Information Technology on the organizational level. Moreover, in order to overcome this serious problem, the management took a number of different decisions and implemented a well planned strategy proactively (Akewushola& Elegbede,2013, 9-19). In order to better understand about how the management of Cadbury overcame this technical problem related to the implementation of Information technology; an in depth discussion regarding the relevant factors is required.

Situation

In today's fierce market competition there is one to compete and survive in the market and that is through technology. Technology has played a vital role in the business arena. Many companies gets competitive advantage over other companies through technology and the market has witnessed that those companies who fails to adopt or implement technology face severe consequences. One of the clear examples of the problems of an industry having its impact on the overall performance of the company can be illustrated from the fact that there was an honest admission from the Cadbury that some of the information technology implementation that were made in 2005 were having an impact on the overall performance of the company. This is the critical situation for the company where it has to take the decision (Earl, 2012, n.p) Prompt action is required from the overall management and administration of the company.
