The mission of the British Airways is to provide its customers with absolute service experience and achieving the target in both, on the ground and in-flight. It is dedicated for providing low-fare for flights to international destinations, quality services of cargo, and professional maintenance.

Vision

To thrive for becoming the work leader in the field of travelling, to create the largest destination networks globally, and to inspire everyone with the flight experiences.

Objectives

British Airways has objectives of becoming the best airline in terms of both customers as well as cargo; providing top quality services to all its customers; striving for the growth of main global city on continuous basis; expanding its chief position in London; and meeting all the needs and expectations of its customers.

Goals

British Airways has goals of leading as the world's number one premium airline by focusing on its customer services continuously at each level of the journey of its passengers. The complete goal of British Airways is alienated into three different areas, which are as follows:

Global (attracting all the passengers, whether for business travelling or leisure for creating repeat customers).

Premium (ensuring that the highest level of service quality has been received to passengers wherever they come upon the airline for travelling).

Airline (maintaining focus on aviation with greatest and valuable products, services, and equipments).

Core Competencies

The core competencies of British Airways that are the most valuable characteristics of any business are as follows:

Brand Image (the largest airline of United Kingdom based on international flights, fleet size, international destinations, and its only way in to Heathrow terminal).

On-board Services (British Airways is always known as the best for providing the above average experiences to its customers for in-flight services).

Larger Global Field (accessibility to more than 300 world-wide destinations). (Campbell-Smith, 1986, p.n.d).

In terms of heavy laws and regulations by the government, BA always tries to do compliance with that for continuing its business operations.

In terms of security against any terrorist threats, adequate security measures are taken by BA for ensuring the customer's confidence and maintaining its competitive advantage.

In terms of global financial crisis, BA adopts various cost cutting strategies and use alternative ways of communication, e.g. teleconferencing.

For the aged population of UK, BA provided opportunities for older people to spend good time on leisure activities, like international travelling.
