1.1 British Airways

British Airways is the United Kingdom's airline that is flag carrier, and founded in Waterside, close to its central hub at Heathrow Airport, London. It is amongst one of the largest airlines of the UK in terms of international flights, international destinations, and fleet size and second largest in terms of carrying passengers, after easyJet.

British Airways is a business organisation in the airline industry that works for providing chartered and scheduled flights for passengers and also for freight. Basically, it is a partnership type organisation and has a corporate partnership with one world. Being a corporate partner in the alliance of One world, British Airways put forward a global network of more than hundred destinations worldwide, shared benefits for regular passengers, and flawless and high-quality customer service (British Airways Report, 2008-09).

Amongst many, one of the most common purposes of the British Airways is to provide safe and facilitated travelling opportunities to people all around the world. This organisation is a full service international airline that offers low fares on year-round basis with a wide-ranging global network of routes that flies to and from the airports that are centrally located in different cities or countries. British Airways facilitate flyers with more space and comfort and anyone can book seat of his/her own choice. Also, wide variety on-board meal options are provided to passengers along with any special requests of meals. BA also offers entertainment through movies, music, games, or television for every passenger individually (British Airways Report, 2008-09).

Mission Statement

The mission statement of Amazon is as follows:

“British Airways mission statements are 'One Destination seeks to ensure our customers fly confident that, together, we are acting responsibly to take care of the world we live in. 'BA has been redefining the vision, and making sure it is successfully carried out throughout the organization, and hence led to corporate success. 1.2 Issues Involved In Strategic Planning

First British Airline Company was established in 1919. At that time, there were many small airline companies operating like Aircraft Transport, Travel, Handley Page Transport, In-stone Airlines and British Marine Air Navigation they all face tremendous competition from outside forces and to overcome that immense competition all of these small airlines combined together and form British Airways. British Airways is a full service global airline, offering year-round low fares with an extensive global route network. The airline flies to and from centrally located airports and offers flights around the world.

It is one of the most effective strategies of British Airways that they always want to keep the image of their organization strong and well maintained.
