The difference between the regression coefficient and the correlation coefficient is that the regression coefficient provides the impact or changes in the dependent variable due to the changes in independent variable in terms of magnitude whereas correlation coefficient describes the relationship between the two variables in terms of percentage.

r = 0 shows that there is no relation exist between the two variables whereas = 0 shows that there is no impact of over the dependent variable i.e. variable in the coefficient of the independent variable does not affect the dependent variable.
