Introduction

The software industry in UK is flourishing and is a profit generation ground for many companies and providing a tough completion to many software industries in the world. The software industry is providing the best opportunity for the investors to invest as it has become a highly competitive market in the world. According to software technology market overview during the last year top 50 companies of the industry have been able to grow by 20%. The UK software industry is providing a huge competition to especially the American industry. The big three players of the software industry are Microsoft, Oracle and SAP. The key feature of this industry is the provision of quality and innovation in their product. On the basis of the future prospect and opportunities available in the market, therefore I have decided to start my career from the software industry in UK.

Discussion

According to the Market Survey Report of UK`s Software industry there is very small number of large companies that have to compete with many small companies present in the sector. Thus small companies have a lot of opportunity to become large by extending their product range and become large in the future. The UK industry is today the second largest market in terms of value in entire European Union. The report has forecasted that the market will grow by 5% in the years to come. The companies during the last two to three years have been able to generate an increase in 20% revenues and the profit of the companies in these industries has increased by 25%. Among the three giant companies in the UK software industry Microsoft is the market leader whereas Oracle is the emerging company and SAP is the one providing variety of services and have adopted diversification strategy in order to reduce its risk of failure in the UK Software Industry. The reason why I have chosen these companies is because they have an overall recognition and have a brand name in the world, thus it will help me to not only analyse their performance in UK but I will be able to have an overall performance of these companies.
