Punitive Damages Standards

The terminology of punitive damages refers to the punishment and according to the penal theory; the crime committed by the suspect should be aligned with the punishment being levied. This punishment would be according to the crime being committed by the suspect; however the principal is modified to a great extent when the detection of crime is to great extent very minimal. According to the standards then, the crime committed by the suspect will be the basis for punitive damages.
