Introduction

Frederick Ool travels from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Phoenix, Arizona for a business conference for four days, where he faced several problems that referred to violation of legal business practices. This paper discusses the business law with reference to four situations faced by Frederick Ool during his business trip.

Discussion

At the first day, when Frederick Ool was attending the Pool Builders Conference, an employee named Ted Tyack entered his hotel room and theft his I-Pad. When Ool came back to his room, he realized that his valuable I-Pad was not in dresser drawer. Later on, he reported to the management of hotel but they referred him to the registration counter where it is written that valuables should not left in the room and check it with hotel security. In brief, hotel management took no responsibility of customers' valuables, in this case an I-Pad of Ool. As soon as, he came back to Philadelphia, he sued the hotel to recover I-Pad cost.

Under common law at Ohio, the hotel management is liable to the guest property loss when the guest was on their possessions. This law makes liable the innkeeper to guest property but with certain requirements such as, governs the law placement (several statutes necessitate that the statute be placed at the front desk, in a common area, or behind the room's door); regulated in the innkeeper statute of the state; and the size of the displayed statue text. In general, to be defended under the laws, the hotel management and its employees cannot be complicit to the loss of property or the theft. Finally, the hotel management generally has to ensure the safekeeping of the property of the guests (Twomey & Jennings, 2007).

It is a responsibly of hotel management to provide adequate facilities to its customers and under common law, it is their responsibility of hotel management to protect customers and their valuable goods. However, in this case, the hotel management did not protect Frederick Ool valuable I-Pad, as well as, even do not take responsibility of his employee deed even denied their liability. Hence, Ool was going through financial loss, as well as psychological trauma. Even though, he has filed a law suit against hotel management.

It is expected that Mr. Fredrick Ool will recover the cost of I-Pad that was robbed by an employee of hotel as hotel management are liable to protect valuables of customer (I-Pad). Hotel management without any doubt has to pay the cost of I-Pad to Ool and by placing a board of instruction does not elevate their liability.

Ool went for lunch during second day of the Pool Builders Conference at Pamela's Paddy Wagon. He ordered a triple bacon cheeseburger; however, after eating one third of the burger Fredrick tooth cracked and one portion of the tooth. The damage was because of the bone fragment of a cow. Later on, he visited the local dentist in order to fix his tooth. After returning to Philadelphia, a ...
