British Airways is the United Kingdom's airline that is flag carrier, and founded in Waterside, close to its central hub at Heathrow Airport, London. It is amongst one of the largest airlines of the UK in terms of international flights, international destinations, and fleet size and second largest in terms of carrying passengers, after easyJet.

British Airways is basically a naissance member of 'Oneworld airline alliance', and also with the 'Qantas', 'American Airlines' , 'Cathay Pacific', and the currently obsolete 'Canadian Airlines'. This alliance has progressed to become as the third largest alliance, behind Star Alliance and SkyTeam. International Airlines Group, i.e. the parent company of British Airways is listed on the LSE (British Airways Report, 2008-09).
