The successful leadership style is based on effective and efficient vision and mission for a business. The main purpose of vision and mission are fulfilled when its clearly communicated to organization, written in simple and understandable English, and are reflecting certain associated actions to achieve such goals. Vision of a business reflects the anticipated future outcome and states a set of guidance for workers who are wiIt's vision lling to follow it. The CEO usually sets the vision. Similarly, mission of a business is regarded as motivational feature of vision, which signifies the importance and logic of vision pertaining to employees, customers, management and owners (Robin, D., n.d.).
Saatchi and Saatchi mainly operate from New York, USA. It's vision for future of their business is to be regarded as a greenhouse for the business in the worldwide that applies creative and innovative ideas for changing image and brand of customer's business. It mainly operates as a communication agency. The reason behind its disastrous condition was the recession of 1990s, which led it to the bankruptcy in 1995. During the same phase, company was restructured and led by new management at top. The company set out new financial goals, which included growth in revenues higher than market, conversion of 30% of sales into operating profit, and to double the earning per share of the organization (Greenhalgh, C. 2004).
Discussion
The company had 45 business units or agencies throughout the world. All of these agencies had different goals and agendas that were not satisfactory or creating any value or benefit to the company. Therefore, the new management reformed the internal structure of the company. It began by categorizing the agencies as per their earning capabilities, agencies in loss, potential of performing good in future and agencies having no future. This methodology helped management in picking up business units for further investment purposes.
The company formed three categories of agencies, which were named as lead, drive and prosper. The agencies that lied under prosper category were least predictable to prosper in future at faster pace. Many business units were categorized in this category and comprised of a restricted number of 50 employees. The agencies that fall under drive category had around 50 to 150 employees and were aimed at sustaining their business and sales in order to grow their margin. The agencies like that of UK, New York and China fell under lead category. These agencies had been growing at a faster pace and were heavily allocated by major portion of company's resources (Greenhalgh, C. 2004).
The customer perspective focuses on the several factors and types of services offered to the clients inclusive of products in order to determine the satisfactory level towards service.
