Environmental Science within construction industry covers the science, technology and services that relate to the comfort of humans and the environmental performance of construction industry. This paper explores four key areas of Environmental Science, a knowledge of which is essential in all disciplines within the Construction Industry. This paper is useful, at all levels, to students and practitioners of architecture, construction studies, building services, surveying, and environmental science. Covering a range of topical areas including climate change, carbon and energy management, sustainability in construction, and sick and green buildings, this remains the key introductory text for understanding the principles and theories of the science behind environmental construction. Key areas of environmental science that have been explored during the research are Thermal Comfort, Heat Losses / U Values, Heat Gains, and Acoustics / Noise levels.
