Introduction

The Brisbane City Council works with community in order to provide guidance for the future growth of the city and for its development. The long term planning of Council involves the project of; living in Brisbane 2026, the Plan for Action of Brisbane along with other strategies is to put in place and address for the best infrastructural and environmental planning for future (Cemeteries-Brisbane City Council). This study is the analysis about the leadership change in Brisbane City council and the implications of Change theories that are suitable for Brisbane. The core purpose of this in depth analysis is to validate the recommendations made for issues with respect to change. The report provides a clear understanding of the Change programs and processes which are needed to apply at Brisbane.

About Brisbane City Council

Brisbane City Cemeteries is one of the leading parts of Brisbane City Council. There lie around 1300 to 1400 services every year in which 900 hundred are being cremations and around 500 are the burial services. The main function of this Council is providing respectful and right disposal of dead (Cemeteries-Brisbane City Council).

Brisbane City Council manages for twelve cemeteries and three crematoria which cater for cremations, burials and ash memorials. The Pinnaroo, Hemmant and Mount Gravatt cemeteries offer for a range of various burial options. However, rests of the nine cemeteries are those historical sites which have limited burial options (Cemeteries-Brisbane City Council).

The hierarchy of Brisbane City Cemeteries possesses 50 staff members from which 35 members are field staff. The core structure of cemetery is comprises of Cemetery team leader couple office staff where the rest consists of grave diggers along with two cremators operators (Cemeteries-Brisbane City Council).

Discussion

Before diving into the depth analysis of the change process there is a need for overlooking of the company operations. From in depth study of Brisbane operating environment; it is clear that the daily environment of the council is at a very fast pace where the main operations are bound with time constraints. It seem no difficult for cemetery to cater more than ten services in a day as the environment is never stable and it keeps changing without any planning (McManus, 2005).

Therefore, for catering these environmental changes the staff of Brisbane needs to give more emphasis over;

Understand their role in business and majorly in large organizations;

The time constraint services are for making staff understand the role and abilities in order to identify issues and try to manage working with the team (Moyles, 2006).

Staff needs to maintain the high level of professionalism and expectations in performing standard tasks;

More interactions of staff with public staff create more professionalism while being aware of the external forces; however, because of this there is high expectation of high standard performance.

An environment that expects its managers to be able to manage their cemetery and be able to lead the staff;
