The global motor industry in 2001 according to the case study was mainly dependent on six big corporations who were accounted for 80 percent of car productions. In recent times, many small companies are acquired with these big companies in motor industry. General Motors is one the giant company in the motor industry as it owns various stakes in other well known manufacturers of car such as Subaru, Suzuki and Fiat. The BriCol Engineering Ltd is the manufacturer of motor parts and components and it supplied these parts to different companies. Its major client is General Motors because the factory of GM is located nearer to BriCol factory, which makes BriCol feasible to supply their parts (Brennan, et.al, 2003).

The case study of BriCol Engineering Ltd is the analysis of global motor industry in 2001. The BriCol Engineering Ltd was incorporated in the year 1975 by Brian Deans and Colin Platt. The company primary function includes the manufacturing and supplying of metal parts to Automobile industry. The company supplied different parts to different companies, in which General Motors was one the clients of BriCol and company has been selling parts and components to GM and its predecessors companies for 20 years (Brennan, et.al, 2003). The global economic slowdown of 2002 was the bad year for motor industry because the sales of new cars were very low because of the crisis. This slowdown in economic activities affected the sales of new cars worldwide, making the sales of used cars at increasing trends because of the cheap and affordable prices by both the private and corporate customers (Brennan, et.al, 2003).
