The early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer: a literature review - an update

The research revealed that mastalgia is a un usual symptom of breast cancer. 10% of women are probable to have discharge from nipple. Lumps in breast is another symptom of breast cancer. Women giving first birth in old age, having family history of breast cancer, older age, are at risk of breast cancer. Mammography is found to be more sensitive than clinical examination and the sensitivity of FNA varies with respect to where it is conducted. Core biopsy is another alternative to FNA.

This article is a result of findings from 1273 articles. It has a strong link to the topic as it helps in identifying and analyzing the various symptoms, diagnostic techniques, and risks associated to breast cancer.

Risk Factors of Breast Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

The risk factors associated to breast cancer are OC, HRT, breast feeding and DM. These factors can be added in the risk predictive model in order to improve predictive and discriminative capabilities.

The early detection of cancer can help in prolonging the survival probability among patients. Therefore, it is a useful step to incorporate the risk factors in prediction models in order to determine the women at risk.
