The Renaissance period was one that marks the rebirth of art and architecture and how artists used their work to disrupt the autonomy that prevailed at that time. Beginning in Florence, Tuscany, the revolution took over entire Europe and then the entire Western civilization. During this period, citizens started to realize that they had rights that were being ignored by the autonomous rule of powerful families and groups.

The Renaissance Era and its significance

Florence of Tuscany was engulfed in the patronage of dominant families and autonomous political structures during the 14th century. It was home to many civic and social peculiarities that were of concern to the citizens but nobody had the courage or strength to raise their voice against the ruling families. During this time, artists and architects started using their art to motivate people and encourage them to bring a change. This movement gained further acceleration with the invention of printing. Ideas started spreading faster and wider. Artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Boticelli, Michelangelo and Bramante are known for their contribution during this era and remembered as one of the many artists who helped bring this revolution. He was one of the ruling patrons of Florence and a patron of arts and architecture who encouraged the artists with their work.

The renaissance did not just limit itself to Europe but spread rapidly throughout the entire western civilization, causing great political reforms and bringing major changes.
