Executive Summary

Sport is one of the key potential forces in terms of recreation and health, and provides many benefits to numerous participants; however it also pour various affect on the natural environment. The Centennial Olympic Congress asked for the planning Olympic Charter under the header of securing environment while developing its movement with sport. It is important to note that ecological building consideration in entire views of Olympics is a toughest task. The environmental issues of the world are continuously growing, despite of having advanced technology of climate change, but still carbon dioxide emissions shot up by around 40 percent between 1990 and 2009. The increment in global population also increases the environmental issues. However, in this point of time, our capacity to supply renewable or carbon neutral energy has developed and significantly became more economic. One thing is noticed that the set of governance has given limited consideration to it (www.olympic.org). The IOC heads the OM as it makes guidelines and provides guidance and also organizes the activities of OCOGs, NOCs, Ifs and host cities. It also impose strong environmental standards, especially while facing several environmental protection, need, legislation, awareness and capacity across nations are taken into account. The Sport and Environment Commission proposes the Executive Board of IOC on the policy of OM for encouraging environmental security and offers sustainable development, and supporting relevant IOC activities and programs during its members.

Introduction

The London Games 2012 were focused around the Olympic Park in east London. It included 4 years Cultural Olympiad. The organizers of London Games 2012 used a strap line 'inspire a generation' which focus on the sustainability of the world. The power of measuring the impact of any specific programme on the behaviour of individual is usually difficult. Due to this reason, we have emphasized on the sustainability maintained by the games. The London Games 2012 was expected to take active and central part to maintain sustainability in the area of game (www.uel.ac.uk)s. London Commission had a responsibility of reporting public and they also played key part in intercommunication regarding sustainability at the time of games beginning. In July 2005, London was elected as a Host City and IOC gave LOCOG a draft with technical requirement for OGI in March 2006.
