Body Mass Index is a useful measure used on how individuals could assess their health. In this paper, we will discuss three different articles on the topic of Body Mass Index and the impact it could have on individuals. It will give us an idea on how it could be used by individuals.

Ziol-Guest and Co researchers conducted a study on “Early Childhood Poverty and Adult Body Mass Index” in 2009. The objective of the study was to find a relation between poverty in early, middle, and later childhood and adult body mass index. This study was carried out to find out the socioeconomic effects on Health. The study used secondary research to find conclusions about the problem. A data of 885 sample size was taken of people including man and women between 1968 and 1975 who were tracked between their prenatal and birth years and adulthood in the nationally representative Panel Study of Income Dynamics. The study found out that economic condition of the individual in their early life may have an impact on eventual anthropometric measures. This study was peer reviewed and there are related studies done by other researchers too (Ziol, 2009, 527-32).
