“Booker Taliaferro Washington” was an American orator, political leader, author and educator. From 1890 to 1915 in the African-American community, he was the dominant figure in the United States. Booker Taliaferro Washington represents the large majority of blacks who lived in the South, and spoke on behalf of the black American, who are the last generation of leaders who through disfranchisement by southern legislatures had lost their ability to vote.
