Introduction

Before watching Toscanini's live performance, I did not understand the importance a conductors' gestures body language and facial expressions, and how it could such greatly influence the quality of the music. Toscanini was able to accurately convey the musical expression by using body, head and face. The sheer artistic brilliance depicted in his performance, and his actions were like a magician using his magic wand to create beautiful scenery.
