Auxetic Materials

Introduction

In order to understand the work material of auxetic, we have to take rubber bungee cords with is embedded with the piece of fishing line, additionally wrapped with its length in a spiral with an end opened. While opening the line, the shape of the cord usually becomes distorted into the spiral, and it becomes wider, than the actual undistorted cord. However, because of the line, that helped it holding in the place, it makes it no shorter than the cord. Therefore, some of the wrapped bungee cords are put down, with each other, and the simultaneously the fishing lines, are pulled, after that they push each other, which make it increasing the area, which was covered along with the volume occupied (Stott, Mitchell, Alderson, and Alderson, 2001).

The auxetix materi8al are attached with the threads which are of very thin texture, than the bungee cords. However, despite of their thinness, they are constructed in the same manner, as the bungee cords, this has been done by using the technique which is called as weft insertion, which is used to wrap a very thing line of material which is of high- strength, such as Kevlar. Kevlar is made up of elastic, which is specially processed with the polyester, and is formed around the core. The threads are therefore, naturally fibered into the cloth of auxetic, which can be formed into many different shape, by the help of the cutting material. These can be done for the special applications that are in mind (Stott, Mitchell, Alderson, and Alderson, 2001).

Talking about the properties of the auxetic material, they have two useful properties. The first one is that, shape can be changed per se. the second one is that the shape that is change can be used as the storage to conserve and absorb the energy, which act very rapidly. If the program hits the material that is the sheet, that the energy is spread over the whole sheet. This is the replica effect where one hit results in the disposition of energy on the rest of the sheet. However, after it the material came back to its reaction position, where the original shape is formed, and thus the energy is dissolute from the complete façade, rather than on just one point, from which it actually originates (Stott, Mitchell, Alderson, and Alderson, 2001).

Discussion

The testing of auxetic has been done, which results in that curtain which is actually resistant to the bomb. It is so perfect is the resistance, that is also prevent the glass fragments or some other material which is as sharp as the glass. However, the material is very thin, and the texture is very translucent which can pass the sunlight easily. If in case, the material is hit by the blast or any similar kind, the curtain tends to expand, it works in a way that it actually create pores, which is result allow the air of the blast to pass through the surface, this is the ...
