Discussion

Autism

Autism is basically a disorder in humans which is characterized by social interaction and communication and it is restricted by repetitive behavior. Studies have revealed that autism starts showing its symptoms at the age of three. The disorder due to autism, affects the processing system of child brain, by eradicating and reducing its nerve cells (Gray, 2011)

Autism is usually discovered in the early age of a child. The symptoms and signs usually develop slowly and gradually, but many children develop the signs of autism in their early age. People who are suffering from autism usually lack the intuition about others and they find it difficult to communicate with others. Children suffering from autism don't have any social life as they don't interact with people in the society. They smile less and avoid, looking at others. They have less eye contact with people and they also find it difficult to share and express their emotions and feelings with others.

On the other hand, children affected with autism also have communication disorders. The communication disorders can be observed in the early years of a child. Due to communication problems, autistic children may also develop unusual gestures, late responses and other vocal pattern. Autistic children may also have problems with understanding of words and their combination and they tend to develop an ability of repeating the same words more often. Autistic children also find difficult in symbolizing things and words in language and therefore, find it difficult in understanding their language.

Rather than the above mentioned developmental problems, autistic patients may also develop unusual symptoms that can affect the individual and their family members. Many people suffering from autism have superior skills in attention and perception as compared to normal population in the society (Johnson, 2007)
