Introduction

For any piece of music there are two possibilities interpretation: the author and performer, but there is more than a century, recording, reading stories that go from the first Edison phonograph in 1877. And it is inextricably linked another man standing mediator between the performer and listener. This is the man behind the mixing desk; audio engineer. Over a hundred years of its existence, recording was a rapid development path, becoming an integral part of cultural life, and making music heritage of millions of people.

Training and Qualification

No specific requirements for this role, but a degree or other higher education in sound engineering are very useful. Courses are available in audio technology, audio engineering, acoustics and recording music. The audience engineer's task will be to assemble (mixing) the various elements which are made available (vocal tracks, instruments, etc.). It will shape each track (each) so that they fit together harmoniously without competing (each item will a definite place in the spectrum) (Bartlett & Bartlett, 2009, pp. 292). It will also bring his sensitivity to highlight a particular element, the dynamic process (single) tracks and set them in the stereo.

Sound engineers are needed to control or manage teams of engineers and other professionals related to the sound, and number and width of the zones, which are responsible for different industries. In recording studios, lives performance, only a few live concerts. Project management is a main aim of the day audio engineer (Pras& Guastavino, 2011, pp. 73). In this role he is responsible for project design, create schedules, regular meetings, cooperation with contractors and artists, and keep the team on track. What does an Audio Engineer do?

Customer interaction is an important part of the role of sound engineer (White, 1995). He or she is usually involved in the initial meeting, reviewing the project plan and determine who will be required to complete the project. Regularly scheduled meetings are usually organized by the audio engineer who sets the agenda and bring in team members as needed.

The ability to work well with a wide range of people, solve problems quickly and exchange of information and experiences with staff are important skills (Horning, 2004, pp. 18). Many sound engineers found that the additional courses in team building, effective communication, and mentoring can be very useful in this role. The dynamics of any team is based on the behaviour of the team leader (Noble, 2009).

In the Studio
